Wearing thrifted and up cycled clothing since childhood, I acquired an appreciation for getting creative with fabrics. When I became a parent of three, embellishing pre-owned clothing made sense economically as well as ecologically. Up cycling clothing sometimes involved dyeing items a different colour in order to give them new life. Dyeing thrifted items allows me to satisfy my commitment to up cycle and recycle. In 2021, I'm committing to buying only thrifted clothing.

Several years ago, I learned the arashi shibori style of dyeing on new silk scarves. I also incorporate the itajime and kanoko techniques, but I particularly like the arashi, which means 'storm' in Japanese. I've also incorporated ice-dyeing to my repertoire, which I love for the almost water colour effect this technique has on silk.

My interests also include painting in acrylics, mixed media, pyrography, photography and wire-wrapping stones and crystals. In the fall and winter, I knit on a circular loom to make the toques that go in care packages I assemble for the unhoused.

My work has been shown at Arts at Darts (Darts Hill Gardens), the Newton Cultural Centre gallery, the SAGA Gift Shop, the Surrey Art Gallery, La Belle Fleur Floral Boutique, the SouthRock Art Exhibition, For the Love of Art in South Delta, Harrison Country Market (Harrison Hot Springs) , Crescent Beach Pop Up Gallery, Landmark Pop Up Gallery (White Rock), the Fort Gallery, Strathearn Art Walk (Edmonton) and Cloverdale Market Days.
